Mayor's Message

The Rivergrove Tree Board has been working on a new Tree Ordinance for some time now. It certainly is not an easy task, trying to balance the rights of property owners with the City's goals of tree preservation and mitigation. Last month the members held a second public work session, seeking direction of several issues. Now they have reached a point where the ordinance will be presented to the Planning Commission and forwarded to the State of Oregon for review. After that review, two hearings will be held for citizen comments and any changes to be made before Council adopts an ordinance. I thank the Tree Board for all their hard work—volunteerism is what keeps Rivergrove strong!
