PLANNING COMMISSION AND CITY COUNCIL TOPICS

TYPE III PUBLIC HEARING FOR DEVELOPMENT PERMIT APPLICATION AT 4640 DOGWOOD DRIVE

On Monday, December 4, the Planning Commission will hold a Type III public hearing for a development permit application for a deck renovation and new patio in the floodplain at 4640 Dogwood Drive, submitted by Dan Kelley for owner Connie Dalton. Information about this application can be obtained by contacting the city at info@cityofrivergrove.com, by calling 503.639.6919 or by writing to the City at P.O. Box 1104, Lake Oswego, OR 97035. Electronic copies will be provided at no charge; there is a nominal fee for paper copies. Application materials can be viewed at City Hall by appointment, contact information above.

COMPLETENESS REVIEW FOR A DEVELOPMENT PERMIT APPLICATION AT 5638 DOGWOOD DRIVE

At the Monday, December 4, 2017 meeting, the Planning Commission will review for completeness the development application for the renovation of a single family home in the floodplain at 5638 Dogwood Drive, submitted by Arne and Colleen Nyberg.

TYPE IV PUBLIC HEARING FOR AMENDMENTS TO THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN

The City of Rivergrove will hold Type IV public hearing at the City Council meeting on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 7 p.m. in the River Grove Elementary School library, 5850 McEwan Road, Lake Oswego, to consider proposed legislative amendments to the Rivergrove Comprehensive Plan Introduction, Goal #10 Housing and Goal #12 Transportation. (Local file no. 2016-05.). The Amendments stipulate changes to the annexation policy and a text correction in the Transportation goal. The amendment approval criteria and procedures followed will be pursuant to the Rivergrove Comprehensive Plan, the Rivergrove Land Development Code sections 4.120, 6.225-6.230, 8.030-8.050 and the Portland Metro amendment provisions.  The proposed amendments (Local file no. 2016-05) can be downloaded from the Rivergrove website at http://www.cityofrivergrove.org. Copies of the amendments and the city staff report can also be obtained for a nominal fee by contacting the office staff at 503.639.6919, emailing info@cityofrivergrove.com or writing to City of Rivergrove, P.O. Box 1104, Lake Oswego, OR 97035. A copy can be viewed by appointment only at Rivergrove City Hall, 4924 Childs Road, Lake Oswego, OR 97035. Contact city staff to make an appointment. DAUSMAN FAMILY CONSTRUCTS AND DONATES LITTLE FREE LIBRARY TO LLOYD MINOR PARK

The Dausman Family has donated a Free Little Library, a free book exchange, located on the west side of Lloyd Minor Park along Tualamere. Quentin and Andrew Dausman worked hard all summer to construct the wood library. Stop by to take a book or bring a book to share. Each year, nearly 10 million books are shared in Little Free Libraries. JACOB MCKAY SWORN-IN AS NEW COMMISSIONER

Jacob McKay was sworn-in to a seat on the Planning Commission at the beginning of the November meeting. His background in construction will no doubt be an asset to the Planning Commission. Welcome, Commissioner McKay!

DECISIONS

  • Commissioner Jonathan Sweet was unanimously elected Vice Chair of the Planning Commission.

  • The Planning Commission denied a tree removal permit for a lot at 4620 Dogwood Drive.

  • The development permit application for a deck renovation and new patio in the floodplain at 4640 Dogwood Dr. was deemed complete.

  • A retroactive Tree Removal Permit for an apple tree in the floodplain at 6540 Childs Road was approved.

  • The Planning Commission approved amendments to Ordinance 70-2001 and the Rivergrove Land Development Ordinance to allow docks (Local file no. 2017-01) and sent the amendments to City Council.

  • City Council adopted Ordinance 91-2017 that amends Ordinance 70-2001 and the Rivergrove Land Development Ordinance to allow docks.

MAYOR'S MESSAGE

Soon, by mail, you'll receive the annual Rivergrove Giving Letter. As I'm sure you know, Rivergrove has no city tax, so your generous contributions go a long way toward improving life in our little city, especially in our city parks.  I'd like to thank you in advance for remembering Rivergrove at this time of year.
